Roberto de Zerbi utilized various methods to revive struggling Tottenham Hotspur, ranging from amateur psychology to a sunshine break in Marbella. The breakthrough finally arrived against Coventry City as James Maddison made his first start in 18 months.
The 29-year-old missed most of last season with an ACL injury and fractured his shoulder earlier in the campaign. In the 14th minute against Coventry, he delivered a spectacular right-foot finish from 20 yards to set Arsenal on the way to a 3-1 victory.
While the win provides sweet relief, Arsenal's overall recent form has been challenging with few home victories. Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies also scored to secure the points, alongside the welcome return of Dejan Kulusevski after 526 days out.
Maddison received a deserved standing ovation when substituted, and De Zerbi knows this is only a start ahead of a tough trip to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
