Torquay United knocked out of FA Cup after Oxford City defeat

Torquay United missed out on the FA Cup first round for the fourth consecutive season following a 1-0 loss at Plainmoor against National League North side Oxford City.

Deon Moore had an initial first-half goal disallowed for offside before Scott Pollock scored the decisive goal just six minutes into the second half.

The Gulls also had a penalty appeal waved away when a defender appeared to handle the ball inside the penalty area.

Manager Jimmy Ball admitted his team was outplayed in midfield and suffered from a lack of standout performances in such a crucial match, leaving him heartbroken for the fans and the club.
