Liverpool have completed the signing of 18-year-old goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from Belgian side Genk in a deal that could reach up to £30m including add-ons. The deal stems from work by Liverpool's global talent department led by Matt Newberry.
Brughmans has agreed to a six-year contract and will stay with Genk on loan for the current campaign before officially moving to Anfield ahead of the 2027-28 season.
Standing at 6ft 7in, the young Belgian has started all four of Genk's matches this season and has previously represented his country at the youth level.
While Liverpool currently have several goalkeeping options, uncertainty surrounding contracts and future squad setups means Brughmans will provide an important option from the summer of 2027 onwards.
