Village club Knowle FC makes historic FA Cup and TV debut

Knowle FC, representing a village near Solihull with a population of up to 11,000, is preparing for a landmark fixture against Worcester City. Founded in 1926, the men's team currently competes in the United Counties League Premier League South and has never reached this stage of the competition before.

The excitement in the village has reached unprecedented levels, with ticket sales soaring past 1,000 compared to their previous record of just 150. Manager Clive Seeley confirmed that his full squad, consisting of everyday professionals like teachers and plumbers, is completely available for the match.

Club President Dave Sykes, who has been involved with the team for 38 years, described the broadcast and participation as a dream come true. Manager Seeley added that the massive influx of publicity and revenue will be completely club-changing for the non-league side.

Local figures like Visit Knowle founder Kim Hulse noted that the entire community is buzzing with anticipation. Fans who missed out on tickets, such as Rob Hollingsworth whose father played for the club in the 1960s, will be able to watch the live stream across multiple BBC platforms.
