Juventus agree to sign Woltemade on loan from Newcastle

Juventus have agreed a season-long loan deal for Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade. The 24-year-old was targeted by several continental clubs ahead of the transfer deadline.

Woltemade, who joined Newcastle from Stuttgart in August 2025 for 69 million pounds, is set to travel to Turin for a medical after a 3.5 million pound loan fee was agreed. The deal does not include an option to make the transfer permanent.

Although he came off the bench to assist Yoane Wissa's goal in a 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Newcastle's record signing has only started one of new manager Matthias Jaissle's first three games.

Juventus had been searching for a forward as Jonathan David nears a loan move to Atletico Madrid. They also spoke with Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, but ultimately deemed Woltemade a better and cheaper fit without a mandatory purchase clause.

Newcastle's pursuit of Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo paved the way for the deal. Fernandez-Pardo arrived on Tyneside on Monday evening to finalise a transfer worth up to 55 million pounds.
