Why Eze is struggling to find his form at Arsenal

Known for his off-the-cuff skill and entertaining style, Eberechi Eze has recently seen those familiar elements missing from his game. His first Premier League start of the season against Nottingham Forest ended with a half-time substitution after completing only nine passes and 22 touches, prompting renewed scrutiny over whether he can reproduce his best performances.

Scrutiny has intensified because the Gunners failed to sign a high-profile attacker in the transfer window. While an injury to summer signing Christos Tzolis opened the door for Eze to reclaim a starting role on the left wing, he has struggled to maintain consistent momentum following a Champions League goal against Lille.

Former Arsenal defender Matt Upson pointed out that finding a fixed position has been challenging for the 28-year-old, especially with captain Martin Odegaard occupying the preferred number 10 role. Upson believes Eze must adapt to Mikel Arteta's intense demands and fully understand his tactical responsibilities to secure regular starting minutes.
