David Moyes reveals he has never spoken to Everton owner Dan Friedkin

David Moyes has revealed that he has never had any direct contact with Everton owner Dan Friedkin since his reappointment as manager in January 2025. Friedkin, whose company The Friedkin Group completed a takeover of the club in December 2024, leaves day-to-day operations to his son-in-law Rishi Majithia and chief executive Angus Kinnear.

Leadership and transfer strategy came under heavy criticism following a chaotic end to the transfer window. Supporters protested after the club nearly sold Harrison Armstrong to Nottingham Forest, and the team ultimately finished the window with a squad of just 18 senior players after missing out on targets like Folarin Balogun.

Moyes explained that his primary communication is with Kinnear and Majithia, noting that the new owners are still settling into the club. Despite the structural challenges and a thin squad, the former Manchester United and West Ham manager stated he has no intention of walking away.

Looking ahead to upcoming fixtures, Moyes called upon the Everton supporters to channel their passion into backing the players. He emphasized that the team will need extra support from the stands given their current squad limitations.
