Supporters of Bury FC have expressed their delight after the club drew a bumper crowd of over 5,000 fans for its FA Cup fourth-qualifying-round match against Harrogate Town at Gigg Lane.
The club was expelled from the English Football League in 2019 due to financial difficulties before successfully reforming in its current format in 2023 following a merger vote.
The loyal fans were rewarded for their unwavering support as the Northern Premier League side fought hard to secure a 1-1 draw, forcing a replay in their bid to reach the FA Cup first round for the first time since their expulsion.
Longtime supporters and family members of the players highlighted how much the club's return and community spirit mean to the local town, describing the massive attendance as a vital moment for everyone involved.
