Manchester United endured one of the most humiliating nights in their European history after suffering a 4-1 Champions League defeat away to Como. The heavy loss has dramatically increased the pressure on manager Michael Carrick.
Speaking after the match, club captain Bruno Fernandes pointedly criticized the tactical decisions made by the coaching staff. He suggested that the team lacked bravery under pressure and should have pressed higher up the pitch to make the opponent uncomfortable.
Responding to the criticism during his press conference, Carrick curtly stated that regardless of any system or tactics implemented, a team cannot win if the players do not run forward and back. He also offered a sincere apology to the 700 travelling supporters.
The latest defeat extends Manchester United's winless run to seven matches across all competitions, marking their worst sequence since 2015. The team currently sits 13th in the Premier League standings.
