New season, new trim: Haaland debuts buzzcut

While football has seen many iconic man buns over the years, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has decided to debut a radically different look for the new Premier League season. He took to social media to reveal that he had shed his famous blonde locks with the caption "New season, new trim."

Before taking the plunge, Haaland joked about various hairstyles and looked visibly nervous as the hairdresser made the first cut. However, he soon started smiling and video-called several notable figures, including City teammate Jack Grealish, Oasis musician Noel Gallagher, and former manager Pep Guardiola, all of whom gave enthusiastic approvals.

While Gallagher remarked that Haaland looked about 17 and that change is good, Grealish and Guardiola both expressed that they loved the fresh look. On the other hand, former Sweden star Zlatan Ibrahimovic was far less impressed, having previously warned Haaland never to cut his hair because his strength was in it.

Ibrahimovic jokingly reacted to the buzzcut by asking if Haaland lost a bet and telling him to block and erase his number. This marks the first time the 26-year-old has sported short hair since his days playing for Borussia Dortmund.
