The draw for the third round of the 2026-27 Carabao Cup is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26. It will be broadcast live on Sky Sports after the conclusion of the tie between Preston North End and Everton.
Nine Premier League clubs involved in European competitions will join the 23 winners from the first two rounds of the English Football League. Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Brighton, and Crystal Palace enter the tournament at this stage.
Unlike the opening rounds, this draw is not regionalised. To prevent scheduling conflicts, the eight clubs in the Champions League and Europa League cannot be drawn against each other, and their fixtures will be determined first.
Matches for the third round will be split across the weeks commencing September 7 and September 14, 2026. Manchester City are the reigning EFL Cup champions.
